A Day With My Girls
On Saturday I had an unexpected day off. As it was such a lovely day I took the girls out for a walk in the winter sun.
As I child I grew up in Loughgall until moving when I was nine to the country. It is always nice to bring the girls here for a step back to my childhood and show them were Mummy went to school. The country park was not opened when I was a child. I had never even seen the lake until recent years. Loughgall is a beautiful small village set within the Apple county of Armagh.
The park itself offers a range of activities. The emphasis, indeed, is very much on family pursuits. Walking, cycling, a children’s play area, golf, fishing, an adventure trail, trim trail, football pitch and tennis courts are just some of the amenities on offer. For more information on the country park check out the website.
The girls also helped me try out a new lens and I just love the results. As a photographer I am always learning through workshops and out shooting. The girls have become my little models not always very willing ones I must add. Jessica is brilliant at picking out spots which would “make a ground background” as she would say.Trying to get these two to hug is impossible now that they are older! The girls imaginations really came out down by the lake as they made “fishing rods” and tried a spot of fishing! At the back of the park, Jessica spotted this little area and came running to me. “Mummy I’ve found a place which as lovely light for a picture” and she was right! I’ll have to start training her up. My little apprentice! For a great family day out I really recommend Loughgall County Park. I can not wait until the summer for picnics in the sun (hopefully) and making more memories with my girls in the place I once called home.
