A Trip To Dublin Zoo
Are you looking ahead for fun family days out in the summer? Now the Easter holidays are over it won’t be long until the kids get off school for summer. That leaves parents with the worry of how to keep them entertained. I know, I’m a Mum!
Located in the Phoenix Park in the heart of Dublin city, Dublin Zoo is Ireland’s most popular family attraction, and welcomed over one million visitors last year. We were one of those families. We probably picked the wrong day to visit, right in the middle of the July holidays but even though it was very busy, it was a brilliant day out.
It was such a treat to see the Orangutan walking over the pathway.
The girls loved the play park which was huge in cover and like a big sandpit.
It was such a hot day, a lot of the animals were enjoying laying in the sun.
The highlight of the trip for the girls was getting to see the baby elephant.
Dublin Zoo is much more than a fun-filled, stimulating day out for all the family… it’s a place to learn about wild animals, especially those which are endangered. The Zoo is a registered charity – your visit will help maintain Dublin Zoo to a high standard, improve the Zoo and contribute to conservation programmes.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the Zoo, definitely worth the drive down to Dublin. We finished are trip with a picnic in Phoenix Park in the sun.
We can’t wait for more adventures in the summer. Has anyone any family day trip suggestions within Ireland, I’d love to hear them?
