A Family Day out to Streamvale Farm

When possible I like to make Sunday’s our family day. It is the one day in the week that the four of us can all be together. I love that time we all spend together whether it is a lazy day at home or a family day out. This Sunday we headed off early for a trip to Streamvale Farm.

The farm opens on a Sunday morning at 10.30am and we arrived just in time for lamb feeding. Jessica loved bottle feeding the little lambs. Holly wasn’t so sure, she isn’t an animal lover and at the minute every animal seems to scare her.

Next up it was bunny feeding….

I think Jessica would have brought Chase home with her if she could. He performed later in a circuit which unfortunately we missed as we were on the tractor ride. The tractor ride takes you to visit the Red Deer. Stopping to feed them was another highlight of the day…

Both girls really enjoyed the barrel ride…

The only extra cost was pony rides but it was only another £2.

On family days out I don’t take my “big camera”. For these images I used my Samsung NX1000. This is a great camera and not as bulky as my work cameras.

Streamvale have opened the first agricultural themed play village in the whole of Ireland! This state of the art village encourages children to learn about food and farming through play. The girls loved exploring the village which includes a Vets Clinic, Farm Shop, Milking Parlour and Mechanics.

The farm also offered a play area were kids could ride on go-karts, toy tractors and go on straw bounce slides.

We had a brilliant time at the farm even though it was cold. Jessica loved feeding and petting all the animals and would have quite happily brought them all home with her. Holly was even brave enough to pet one of the puppies.

As a family would highly recommend Streamvale Farm for a great day out.

      Love Melissa x
